Best answer:

Answer by Chris D
you should know your total cost for starting a business, plan on putting down 20%. Go to www.sba.gov it is a good website with a lot of answer to help start up businesses. then go to your bank and ask to speak to a business banker and ask them for a little help.

Good Use For Unsecured Lines Of Credit

Article by Anthony Griswold

Copyright (c) 2008 Anthony Griswold

A lot of borrowers use cash for renovations, vacations, school, or other financial needs turn to equity lines of credit or other types of secured credit lines. These types of lines of credit are popular and relatively easy to obtain, but what if you do not have any equity or own a home to borrow against? If you find yourself in need of a line of credit but do not have any assets for collateral, or do not want to risk the assets you do have, and unsecured line of credit is another option for you.

An unsecured line of credit gives you the cash you need in the timeframe you need just like any other line of credit. Your credit line is based on an amount determined by your credit history, repayment ability, and income and you can use all or part of it as the need arises. The only difference between an unsecured line of credit and a secured one is that you do not have to put up any collateral but will have to pay a higher interest rate.

In order to qualify for an unsecured line of credit you will have to prove that you will be able to repay up to the full amount of the credit line in monthly payments. Your lender will analyze your debt to income level, your credit score and history, your employment history, and may want proof of income and job. If you have a responsible credit history and can afford the monthly payments on the credit line you will probably qualify.

An unsecured line of credit is right for you if you need a credit line but do not have assets to use as collateral. Be careful, however, because it will take more research to find the best deal as they carry higher interest rates than secured credit lines. Talk to the banks in your city to see what the going rate of interest is locally and how much you qualify to be approved for.

National lenders will often have some of the best rates so it is always a good idea to look online for national lender rates. If you cannot find a bank willing to give you an unsecured line of credit you can usually qualify for a credit card, but using a credit card for your cash needs can be risky as many have fees and very high interest. Look into all your options so that you can get the best deal possible on your credit line.

Why are so many people lined up outside this bank? HINT: It has nothing to do with a free toaster. No, this is a good old (bad old?) Bank Run.

So, what happened? During the Financial Crises of 2008, many banks here where hit hard. Not that big a surprise to me, because when I saw numerous banks promising interest rates on deposits over 20%, it rang alarm bells for me. But for people over here, after the fall of the USSR, the associated financial turmoil that ensued, and years of financial mismanagement and hyperinflation, many over here might see this and think "Wow! I really love capitalism!" So, this has many singing a different tune now.

So, what’s the twist here? Although all these people are trying to get their money from this bank, they are limited to 150 hriven a day. That’s about .80 a day, or 13.15 euro. So people return, day after day to withdraw what they can while they can.

The government is promising that all depositors will be repaid in full. However, there are problems with that. In the summer of 2008, the government at that time resumed payments to people who lost money when the Soviet banking system collapsed with the fall of the USSR, 17 years before. Those payments made the Financial Crises of 2008 more severe for the government, leading to having to take loans from the European Development Bank and the World Bank. This also led to the end of the more democratic government and a return to a more authoritarian government.

Looking For a Start Up Business Line of Credit

Article by Williams Acosta

The key to any successful startup is maintaining cash flow. Of course, if you are new, getting startup funding for your company can be difficult because….. you and/or your new business and have no track record. Bit of a catch 22 situation there.

However, something you may want to think about is unsecured loans are loans that do not require any cash down, home equity, personal assets, or business assets of any kind. Obviously, unsecured lending is a valuable option for startups which have property or assets they want to protect. Should you default on the loan and unsecured versus secured, your property and/or assets will be protected from any liens…. now while these are attractive, can you really find such an animal?

Without a doubt, an unsecured business line of credit is probably the most valuable financial tool that a small business owner can possess. Essentially, the credit line works like a huge credit card but at times can have added benefits like check writing and lower interest rates as compared to most business credit cards.

An unsecured line of credit loan is extended by banks or other types of lenders. The amount of the credit line offered is based solely on the credit worthiness of the company and does not require a personal guarantee. Even though unsecured business lines of credit have been in existence for many years, it still comes as a surprise to many small business owners that the program exists or that their company can even qualify.

One typical and smart question that you should ask yourself is why would banks make unsecured line of credit loans? The answer is simple. Banks and other lenders are already making unsecured lines of credit to you as an individual. Why shouldn’t they offer a commercial program? So in reality, it is not nearly as big a stretch as most people think.

If you think about it, almost every American carries at least one Visa, MasterCard or American Express credit card in their wallet or purse. I know in my wallet, with multiple businesses + personal, I carry 8 credit cards at a time. In this case, then one way to think is that the total of all the credit limits on all the cards is your total line of credit. Now, we don’t advocate going out and rapidly blowing that but change a way to change your perspective on things.

The credit cards and the limits on each are issued to you based on your credit worthiness as an individual and are totally unsecured. Therefore, it makes good business sense to offer an unsecured credit line program to corporations. In fact, corporations could be viewed as more stable than an individual and are more likely to use the lines more frequently.

When you are a startup, of course this gets a little tricky and requires some unique techniques above and beyond the scope of this article. But, if you have a startup and are looking for capital credit lines, you should really look down this path. Fortunately, just like your personal credit cards, you only pay on what you use and for new business, we suggest you play it very conservative. However, when you get your credit line, it gives your business access to capital when you need it.

Due to health problems (heart attack), I was forced to file bankruptcy. It is 12 years later and some creditors are starting to hound me for payments saying they weren’t covered by the court action. My only income is Social Security Supplemental Security Income at this time. What should I do? — Jack

Dear Jack,
A good rule of thumb when contacted by anyone who says you owe them for a debt is to request verification in writing that the debt is valid and owed by you. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act states that, to validate a debt, a collector or creditor must provide you with:

The amount of the debt.

The name of the creditor.

A statement that you have 30 days to dispute the debt in writing.

A statement that if the debt is disputed in writing by you that the collector must obtain verification of the debt and mail it to you.

A statement that you can request in writing the name and address of the original creditor.

This building appears a bit too grand for the fairly run down part of Midland it’s located in. This is until you realise it was built right opposite a bustling railway station and hence would have been one of the most valuable commercial properties available.

Now it’s ignored and isolated.

———————————————————————————————————————————–

Midland Junction railway station operated from 1886 to 1966, when it was replaced by the current Midland station 300 odd metres westwards.

The station platform is still in situ, although badly decayed. The footbridge survived until 2006 but was removed when the Helena Street crossing re-opened nearby.
